Don’t let the Southern accent fool you. When it comes to staying on strategy or keeping to a schedule, Jill is anything but laid-back. Just call it a happy by-product of her first job at a two-person design firm where, right out of the University of Florida, she was pretty much running the business.
Over 28 years later, with a career that’s spanned small to mid-sized agencies and hundreds of freelance assignments, it’s hard to find an art director (or production manager or brand strategist) who sweats the details more. Or can keep a company on track better.
In a nutshell, she works her butt off. She cares deeply about helping a business succeed. She laughs at herself. A lot. And she laughs with clients quite a bit, too. She asks a ridiculous amount of questions. Questions you sometimes haven’t thought to ask. She listens carefully. She thinks long and hard. She tells it like it is. She fights for great ideas. And, she solves marketing problems — even if not hiring her is the best way to solve the problem. That goes back to telling it like it is and wanting a business to succeed.
